Network & Net Worth


Ever heard the saying “your network is your net worth” pinned by New York Times bestselling author Tim Sanders? This is undeniably accurate. The associations and partnerships you cultivate are reflective of the outcome you achieve. Outcomes are not isolated events, meaning, our individualistic efforts are only a part of the results achieved. It is rather the coupling of the individualistic efforts and network that create the outcome, hence making networking an essential ingredient.

We all network whether consciously or subconsciously, and the key point here is to ensure we harness the power of our network. The beauty of networking is it’s within each individual’s control to develop the desired connections. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to networking. There are different approaches and there is no formula or any compelling spell. Each individual or company has their own rhythm in creating connections.


The connections I have yielded in my career life are a testimony to Tim Sanders quote that your network is your net worth. In my field of clearing and forwarding, and as part of our company’s Interline Logistics values, timely execution is essential. Having key contacts at each point of the supply chain helps me gain insights and updates that allows me to stay on top of the latest trends and be efficient in executing my tasks. Networking has been an asset both to me and our company, Interline.


As networking is important, it is key to master it. Just like in sports, training improves technicality, endurance, and agility in performance, and the same applies to networking. The more you engage in networking the more you will learn to break communication barriers, convey a message, how to work rooms and attain desired results or goals. A strong network is an advantage because help is always within reach. Someone within your networking sphere will be able to answer even your toughest questions. And, if there’s no definitive answer, you’ll have a solid sounding board to bounce ideas off and put into action step-by-step plans to tackle bigger problems.


In the clearing department, there are so many variables such as licensing, permits, border regulations and logistics. Due to the complexity and diversity of the industry, our network has proven to be our worth. We partner and work alongside industrial experts, local and central government agencies, private sector agencies and corporates to ensure we provide the services we have guaranteed our clients. Interline’s mantra is that we are a one-stop logistics centre, and the magic spell of being so is our network.
